GreenCheck is a youth-led nonprofit with a global presence. We are a donation platform, a movement, a resource hub, and the perfect space for anyone looking to get involved in climate action efforts around the world!

Mission & Purpose

Our mission is to advance global climate justice by serving as a grassroots-centric intermediary and climate ally incubator. We redistribute resources to community-led climate initiatives and build international communities of solidarity, ultimately empowering local communities to reach their goals.

We work to shift the balance of power in the climate movement by supporting grassroots groups directly, with a commitment to building long-lasting communities of support.

Vision

A world where climate-impacted communities have equitable access to resources, autonomy in shaping their futures, and the power to lead a just transition—supported by a global ecosystem rooted in solidarity, justice, and mutual care.

Whats the Issue?

Grassroots organizations leading climate and social justice efforts in MAPA regions face systemic barriers to accessing critical resources—such as funding, networking opportunities, and capacity-building support. Even when resources are available, they are often delivered in ways that are ineffective, misaligned with community needs, or embedded in harmful, colonial frameworks. As a result, resources often fail to reach or meaningfully empower those closest to the frontlines of the climate crisis.

GreenCheck's first year can be defined by learning and connecting, with the launch of our GreenCheck community and donation platform.

Meet The Team

A small note on our story: GreenCheck was first dreamt up by co-founder Bev in the fall of 2020. The 5 co-founders then came together under the Global University Climate Forum to brainstorm a project that would then turn into GreenCheck. As students taking part in climate projects and environmental movements on campus, we asked ourselves what was lacking in the climate movement and why was it so hard for people to get involved. We agreed we needed 2 things: to redirect more resources to the changemakers on the ground and better climate allies. Thus, alongside friends and peers at Yale-NUS College and Yale University, GreenCheck was born…

Anastasia Kurniadi

Tasia (she/her) is an Environmental Studies/Anthropology student in Yale-NUS College. When you don't find her working with the Social Media and Partnerships teams, she loves to play the piano and SCUBA dive. A firm believer in the collective power of communities, she is contantly being inspired by the stories and people she encounters along the way.

Angela (she/her) is researcher and environmental activist working broadly at the intersections of artistic research, climate justice and digital humanities. Her current work focuses on energy justice in Southeast Asia. She graduated from Yale-NUS College, Singapore in Environmental Studies (Hons) and minored in Anthropology.

Beatrice Baquero-Salah

Partner Relations Lead

Bea (she/her) has been living in Singapore for the past 10 years but is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. Her mission is to help build bridges between people and across places for climate action. She is a graduate of Yale-NUS College, an interdisciplinary practitioner passionate about environmental governance, and a firm believer in the power of community and collective action. She currently works for a local Singaporean NGO.

Designer (Social Media)

Bekah is a current senior at Yale-NUS College majoring Environmental Studies. After her summer internship at GreenCheck where she worked for a week with our partner ULAN, she felt drawn to continue contributing to the organization's vision.

Ben Everett-Lane

Co-founder & Social Media Co-Coordinator

Ben (he/him) graduated from Yale University with a degre in Environmental Science and is now pursuing his Master's at Peking University in Beijing. He has a passion for climate communication, public engagement, climate science research, and US-China bilateral climate action.

Co-founder & Operations Coordinator

Beverley (she/they) is from Singapore and holds a BA in Environmental Studies from Yale-NUS College. She currently works in the Development team at Mongabay, and has a background in nonprofits, climate philanthropy, and youth movements. She is deeply passionate about climate justice, decoloniality, and marine conservation, and believes strongly in the power of collective action for lasting change.

Dhya Nadhifah Saputra

Instagram Manager

Dhya (she/her) is from Indonesia, and holds a background in International Relations. She currently works as a Social Media Officer at a Marketing Agency. Passionate about the intersection of digital media and environmental advocacy, she believes in leveraging online platforms to drive awareness and action for a more sustainable future.

People Service Coordinator

Jacqueline (she/her) is a bicultural, binational graduate of York University in Canada from a Hispanic Studies major and currently works as a Spanish<>English translator and interpreter. Besides toiling in her family's vegetable/herb garden, she also enjoys using her language skills to support communication across cultural-linguistic borders, especially when it involves climate action and social movements.

Jahnavi (she/her) holds a BSc in Economics and a second major in Data science and Analytics from Singapore Management University. She is passionate about mobilising capital to where it's truly needed and contributing her efforts towards climate action, which she believes will lead towards achieving a more equitable society.

Jenn Dolinski Azocar

People Service team member

Jenn (she/her) is a Venezuelan girl who participated in the first edition of the Green Check's Solidarity Academy as an intern for CEPC - Tolimán. Jenn holds a BA in Liberal Arts and now is studying a second major in Education. She advocates for quality education, sustainability and the ASG impact for enterprises. She loves to read, do volunteer activities and be involved in social work for vulnerable communitties in her country and worldwide.

Co-founder & Financial Controller

Josh (he/him) graduated from Yale University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and now works on medical devices and vaccine technology. With passions ranging from engineering and the environment to music and community organizing, he aims to combine his skills and passions to improve the world around him.

Community Engagement Co-Coordinator

Karen (she/her) is an Ecuadorian International Relations graduate and climate activist committed to youth empowerment and gender equality. With experience in environmental advocacy, she has worked on climate justice initiatives, amplifying the voices of women and frontline communities in Latin America. She has collaborated with organizations like The Climate Reality Project, Girl Up and UNOY, focusing on climate action, policy engagement, and leadership development. She believes those who nurture their communities can transform them.

Leticia (Seung Eun Lee)

Fundraising team member

Leticia (she/her) is from South Korea, holding a BA degree in Environmental Studies from Yale-NUS College. She is passionate about empowering people and is interested in understanding how to bring about sustainable production. She is an avid coffee drinker and an amateur watercolor artist.

Manolo (he/him) is a Political Science student from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. He has experience in student leadership, advocacy writing, and internship work. Passionate about governance, public policy, and youth empowerment, he continuously seeks opportunities to grow and serve. Manolo believes in the power of informed action and aims to be part of meaningful change in society. He enjoys writing, engaging in community work, and supporting movements that promote justice and inclusion.

Muhammad Al-amin Yusha'u

Social Media & Community Engagement team member

Muhammad Al-amin Yusha'u (he/him) is a cybersecurity student passionate about sustainability, digital storytelling, and community building. As a GreenCheck volunteer, he supports social media and community engagement to promote environmental awareness. He also contributes to cultural initiatives in Northern Nigeria, using technology and storytelling to amplify local voices. Muhammad is committed to creating inclusive digital spaces and learning at the intersection of technology, communication, and social impact.

Sophia (she/her) is an undergraduate (major not decided yet) student in Haiti, an aspiring changemaker, and a language enthusiast. Committed to her community, she enjoys contributing to initiatives that empower others through education and civic engagement. With a strong sense of purpose, Sophia is working toward a career in politics to contribute meaningfully to her country and to the world.

Vesper Junqueira

Community Engagement team member

Vesper (they/he) is a legal researcher at Chimicatti Advogados, holding a Law degree from PUC-SP (Brazil). They specialize in environmental law and sustainable development policies across both private and public sectors in Brazil. Their work is grounded in decolonial and intersectional approaches, with a focus on climate displacement, loss and damage, and global responses to environmental challenges through human rights-based legal strategies.

Belle (she/her) is a Senior at Far Eastern University-Manila majoring in BS Psychology. She champions women empowerment through her university's all-female organization and spends leisure during art, drinking coffee, and playing with her cat. She was raised with a mother who valued volunteerism, growing to adopt the same attitude. Her interests are listening to Japanese Countryside playlists and attending ATEEZ cupsleeve events

Yuna (she/her) is a high school student who deeply cares about the climate and sustainability. With a passion for the arts, she helps to design and manage the instagram posts at GreenCheck, hoping it'll reach to a wider community. She aims to restore harmouny between humanity and wildlife. Outside of GreenCheck, Yuna enjoys to sleep, dance and watch movies.
